Eyes, Lips and Face (E.L.F)

I've heard a lot of good things about the beauty brand ELF, not only are their products cruelty free but they are amazingly cheap. Almost everything in their range is £1.50, unless you want products from their studio range, which are all around £3.50. They are even recomended by PETA which is always a bonus. I thought I'd give them a go, before I recieved my order, I didnt have high hopes for the products. Being so cheap, I expected them to be terrible quality, but I was really surprised.

I bought three lipsticks, a concealer, mascara and a lip balm. All of the lipsticks are really pigmented and they dont dry out your lips. I found that I did have to reapply quite often, but I usually do this anyway so I didnt find it a problem. The lipbalm is amazing, it smells devine and moisturizes your lips like you wouldnt believe, it is quite small, but for £1.50 its good. I like the mascara, it isnt clumpy, it doesnt do much when it comes to volumising but it is good at lengthening. The only product I didnt like was the concealer, I am olive skinned, so usually go for medium shades, but on the website the medium looked quite dark, so I opted for the 'light' one, which isnt light at all, its really dark so I cant use it, I suppose thats just what you have to expect when ordering off the internet :(

Health-kick

Since becoming vegan, I have became really conscious of the nutrients that I am taking in. Trawling through the hundreds of vegan websites taught me that I should be eating seeds and nuts, fruit and veg, grains etc. Unfortunately, it just so happens that I barely like any of the above, especially seeds. However, when I was shopping the other day, i stumbled across the miracle that is Linwoods five seed mix, not only that but usualy £5.20, it was reduced to £2... Bargain! The five seed mix is basically, seasme, sunflower, pumpkin and flax seeds with goji berries, that have been ground into a powder. You simply sprinkle two spoons over your soup, cereal, or whatever takes your fancy and you are done... simples.

Im also not much of a fruit fanatic, I dont like the texture/sweetness of most fruits. However, I love melon but I never buy it because its too much for just me and would end up going to waste. This is why I love the Asda snack packs, you get 5 for £1.50 and they are the perfect size.

Something I am a fanatic of lately is green tea, I adore green tea. Never in all my 20 years of existence have I enjoyed tea, but I thought i'd be fancy and try some green tea, in the hope that it would give me flawless skin (it never), and ended up becoming addicted to it. I have pure green tea up unitl about 4pm, then I switch to decaffinated green tea, becasue sleepless nights are the worst (I should know, im writing this at 3am with eyes like saucers o_o)

Pigging Out

I realised that most vegan blogs/meal ideas only focus on healthy nutritional food, which is great, but it is impossible to find anyone who discusses rubbish food, food that you want to snack on while watching a film. Im not suggesting that people should eat like this everyday, but I think as well as eating healthy, it is also important to be able to throw on your comfy pants and just pig out.
If im going to have a lazy, film night, I usually throw on a huge batch of onion rings, chips and garlic bread. I love Asda's garlic baguette slices. I have also became addicted to Happy Monkey smoothies, they're designed for kids, but I love them because they don't have any bits in them, and I hate bits! They're quite pricey at £1.50 for 4 small cartons, but I cant get enough. Also, although it cant be considered something to pig out on, I am obsessed with green tea, ive never liked tea, but for some reason I adore the green stuff. Its just a shame that I probably ruin all the health benefits with my two sugars :/

I've never really been a 'chocoholic' and i've never really had a sweet tooth. However, if I do ever have a craving for snacks, I love the Asda, free from milk chocolate range. They sell chocolate orange buttons which are my favorite and just taste like Terry's chocolate orange. I also love, Texas BBQ Pringles, since becoming vegan, I have been deprived of Quavers, but ive found solace in Pringles. Butterkist sweet popcorn is also one of my favorites, I like the microwave one the best, you cant beat warm popcorn :)

So it begins.

Hello fellow bloggers/blog readers, happy 2012 to you all. Seeing as though it is a new year, i thought it might be a good time to start a new blog. Whats this blog about, I hear you all yell. Well, as of december 2011 I am a vegan. While I was first becoming vegan I found it difficult to find any informative places to read about veganism, especially for younger people. Most people who write about being vegan are middle aged hippies, who are great i'm sure, but when it comes to fashion, do not interest me very much. Therefore I thought, hmmm... what can I do to change this?!?... I know, i'll start a blog, so that other young 20 something vegans like myself can see what kind of clothes are out there and animal friendly.

However, im not just targeting my blog at 'other young 20 something vegans like myself', i am planning to do a blog of daily outfits and perhaps meal ideas that I eat on a regular basis. Im quite fussy and I simply cannot be bothered making tropical tofu salads with a side of tempah marinated in avocado. I will be putting up simple everyday meal plans, that most people will be able to enjoy (I hope) I hope that this is helpful to some people. Ta ta for now.
